Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a leader in respiratory epidemiology to design and oversee real-world evidence studies that guide global vaccine development. You will collaborate across clinical development, safety, regulatory, health outcomes, and external partners, delivering strategic epidemiology plans and regulatory documents.

The role emphasizes strong communication, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of epidemiology experience in a respiratory setting within pharma/biotech.
• Experience with real-world data sources (claims, EHRs, registries) and study designs.
• Experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic or RWE programs in vaccine development or lifecycle contexts.
• Ability to work in a global, matrixed environment and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal scientific communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the epidemiology program for at least one asset or disease area.
• Provide expert epidemiological insights to asset matrix teams.
• Lead and oversee complex epidemiological studies and partnerships.
• Identify new opportunities, methods, and external partnerships.
• Lead initiatives driving innovative tools, methodologies, or processes.
• Mentor junior staff and researchers.
• Represent GSK in scientific interactions with regulators and conferences.
• Plan and coordinate dissemination of epidemiology data and publications.
• Partner with external groups conducting epidemiological studies globally.
