Job summary

Habitat for Humanity International in the United States seeks a Research Associate to lead priority research and learning within the global MEARL team.

You will strengthen research quality, coordination, and use across Habitat’s global network, focusing on research standards, priority global studies including the Collective Impact Initiative, and translating findings into organizational learning and action.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with substantial related professional experience; graduate training preferred.
  • 2–5 years of relevant research, evaluation or learning experience.
  • Experience across multiple stages of research: literature reviews, design, data analysis, reporting.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects across functions or locations.
  • Experience producing research products for practitioners and decision‑makers.
  • Experience in international nonprofit or development context preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Collective Impact Initiative and develop literature reviews and synthesis for priority topics.
  • Lead development and rollout of Research & Learning Pipeline and minimum standards.
  • Provide technical review and quality assurance for HFHI research concepts and reports.
  • Coordinate across teams to ensure tools and lessons reinforce each other.
  • Support research initiatives like Global Housing Project and Global Housing Index; draft reports.
  • Support survey research and data collection activities; assist in instrument design and analysis.
  • Translate research into practical learning for staff and partners; share findings across networks.
