Job summary

Rivian seeks a senior regulatory systems engineer to lead the definition, integration, and validation of globally regulated functions such as eCall, immobilizer, and event data recorder across Rivian platforms and markets.

You will map global regulations to system architectures, decompose regulatory texts into actionable requirements, and drive end-to-end traceability for type approval and ongoing compliance, coordinating across Vehicle Engineering, Electrical, Software, Connectivity, and

Qualifications

• 10+ years in automotive systems, electronics, software or calibration engineering.
• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Automotive, or related fields.
• Experience with eCall, immobilizer/anti-theft, or EU regulatory functions.
• Strong knowledge of EU type approval and UN ECE regulations for electronic systems and connected services.
• Experience in requirements engineering using Flow, Jama, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain system-level requirements and architectures across Rivian platforms and markets.
• Map global regulations to Rivian systems with clear traceability.
• Decompose regulatory texts into functional and non-functional requirements, interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop end-to-end traceability between regulatory clauses, system requirements, tests, and evidence.
• Lead system design and requirement reviews with Vehicle Engineering, Electrical, Software, Connectivity/Telematics, and Cybersecurity teams.
• Define and drive the validation strategy and test specs for regulated functions across markets (lab, HIL/SIL, vehicle).
• Support homologation and type approval activities with technical services and authorities.
• Analyze test results, field performance, and defect data to ensure compliance and performance targets; drive corrective actions.
