Job summary

World, based in San Francisco, seeks a Deputy General Counsel to lead global regulatory strategy and litigation initiatives for Wallet and identity products. In-person role reporting to the General Counsel, collaborating with Product, Policy, and Compliance teams to navigate crypto, financial services, and technology regulations.

The role requires 10–15+ years in regulatory or litigation roles, JD from a top school, and US Bar admission.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in regulatory, litigation, investigations, or enforcement.
• Experience leading global regulatory and litigation programs.
• Advising executive leadership on high-stakes legal, regulatory, and reputational issues.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead global regulatory strategy across financial services, crypto, identity, payments, and platform regulation.
• Oversee litigation, investigations, enforcement from strategy to resolution.
• Direct outside counsel and manage budgets and relationships.
• Build and scale the regulatory and litigation function.
• Collaborate with Product, Policy, Security and Compliance teams.
• Develop crisis-response frameworks for high-impact matters.
