Job summary

LRQA is seeking a Technical Account Manager to lead technical relationships with global QSR and food service clients from the Lansing area. You will oversee audit integrity, drive continual improvement, and act as a trusted advisor across multi-country programmes.

You will manage the account, onboard auditors, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and client objectives. This role supports growth and client retention in a complex, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in food safety, environmental health, or a related science field.
• Lead Auditor qualification in QMS or FSMS.
• 10+ years in food safety, quality assurance, auditing, or risk management.
• 3+ years managing strategic customer relationships or global programmes.
• Experience in multi-site and multinational QSR, restaurant, or food service operations.
• Knowledge of NA requirements including US FDA Food Code and FSMA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the client’s primary technical contact and manage the named account relationship.
• Understand the client’s QSR and food service operating model and risks.
• Lead implementation and governance of multi-country QSR programmes.
• Ensure consistent programme execution across regions and franchise networks.
• Onboard new global resources through auditor training and calibration.
• Perform auditor assessments and shadow audits.
• Conduct technical reviews of reports and oversee audits and KPIs.
• Address field-based technical queries and propose improvements.
• Develop the client’s second-party programme and governance tools.
• Maintain knowledge of supplier assurance requirements and upstream risks.
• Coordinate with supply chain or manufacturing experts as needed.
• Lead benchmarking activities for programme review and consistency.
• Identify changes to audit frameworks and delivery methods for value.
