Job summary

Bystronic is seeking a Buyer I to manage US distribution channel supply, collaborate with European vendors, and monitor parts inventory. The role focuses on maintaining master data in SAP and Excel to support order fulfillment for Bystronic in the United States.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years in purchasing, strong data skills, and the ability to coordinate across international suppliers and internal teams to meet promised dates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a purchasing role, ideally in an international organization.
• Experience with SAP and Excel to maintain master data.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on open Purchase Orders with all vendors to ensure PO is received by the promised date.
• Communicate with internal customers to provide revised promise dates on POs.
• Review demand forecasting and acquire stock accordingly.
• Analyze part classification based on past and forecasted sales volume.
• Monitor daily purchasing demands to ensure correct parts are ordered for delivery dates.
• Oversee orders that drop ship from vendor to customer and to Bystronic manufacturing subsidiaries.
• Source vendors to obtain a steady supply feed.
• Work with accounting to reconcile freight invoices.
• Maintain master data to keep all fields current for Warehouse Management System.
• Maintain BOM for all locally produced parts.
• Assist in developing new part numbers and master data for new products.
