Job summary

Asia Society, a leading nonprofit, seeks a Fall Intern for the ASPI Center for China Analysis (Global Public Health) in New York or remote. The internship supports research, policy development, and engagement at the intersection of global health and U.S.–China relations.

The intern will gain hands-on experience drafting memos, briefs, and presentations, and assisting with events and stakeholder outreach. This temporary role runs October–December 2026 and requires at least 18 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Commit to at least 18 hours per week for 12 weeks.
• Current graduate or undergraduate student.
• Familiarity with China policy issues through study or internship.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and social media platforms.
• Fluency in English and Chinese.
• U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct desk research on global public health issues, focusing on U.S.–China health cooperation.
• Track developments in global health policy and international health institutions.
• Compile and analyze research, data, and perspectives to support briefs and presentations.
• Prepare background memos, literature reviews, briefing materials, and web content.
• Monitor academic publications, government announcements, think tank reports, and media.
• Support planning and execution of roundtables and public programs.
• Assist with speaker research, invitations, and event logistics.
• Prepare meeting notes and follow-up materials.
• Support presentations and other communications materials.
• Maintain research and stakeholder databases and organize project materials.
