Job summary

A automotive propulsion quality leadership role is available with AUTOMOTIVE NEWS in Auburn Hills, MI. This position oversees design-related quality for development and production of transmissions, driveline and electric drive systems from program approval to end of production.

The role leads global efforts to define and improve propulsion processes, tracks KPIs, and captures lessons learned to benefit future programs across regions. Travel domestically and internationally is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years automotive experience with propulsion systems knowledge.
• Experience applying quality tools and processes to drive product improvements.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills (e.g. Shainin Red X, Lean, DFSS).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a global team.

Responsibilities

• Design related quality for development and production of propulsion systems.
• Lead global efforts for defining and improving propulsion system processes.
• Track KPIs during development and report on them during project reviews.
• Capture lessons learned for reuse across programs and regions.
• Manage a systemic approach for quality improvements analyzing propulsion interactions.
• Drive deep dive engineering analysis to address field concerns.
