Job summary

WPI in Worcester, MA seeks a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor to support the Global Projects Program through team-based, off-campus, and international project work. The role includes teaching courses on social science methods, communications, and teamwork, and traveling with student groups to project centers worldwide.

The DIGS department emphasizes interdisciplinary, project-based learning, and expects leadership in preparing research proposals and guiding students toward career readiness

Qualifications

Experience teaching qualitative social science research methods.
Experience advising student teams on project work.
Ability to travel with groups of students to project centers worldwide.

Responsibilities

Preparing students for off-campus research and design experiences in social science methods, including on-site work.
Advising student projects at WPI’s off-campus project centers for multiple terms per year.
Guiding teams in research proposal development and professional collaboration; reviewing writing.
Over time, taking leadership in directing one of the off-campus project centers and participating in pre-departure training.
