Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Program Manager to lead strategic procurement initiatives aligned with enterprise priorities. You will partner with Procurement, Finance, IT, and Operations to design innovative solutions and deliver complex programs from concept through implementation.

You will drive governance, manage budgets and risks, and communicate progress to senior leadership, while mentoring teams and promoting best practices in program management.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree with 6+ years in procurement/sourcing in large multinationals.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen to develop business cases and drive cost savings.
• Project management capabilities for complex, global initiatives.
• Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence in a matrix environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work across global, cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or similar improvement methodologies.
• Willingness to travel 10–50% as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple high-impact procurement programs and strategic initiatives.
• Define program scope, governance, timelines, metrics, and resources.
• Partner with procurement and business leaders to implement innovative solutions.
• Drive governance with steering committees, PMO reviews, and executive updates.
• Manage program budgets, schedules, risks, dependencies, and mitigations.
• Maintain program documentation and ensure compliance and transparency.
• Develop reporting frameworks for portfolio health, financial performance, and plans.
• Champion process improvements and standardized tools across procurement.
• Mentor teams and promote best practices in program management.
