Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership in public relations and strategic communications.
• Proven success securing earned media in top-tier publications and managing high-visibility media relationships.
• Experience as a spokesperson and crisis communications leader.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a university-wide public relations and communications plan.
• Position SCAD as a global leader in art, design, entertainment, innovation, business, and higher education through proactive storytelling and media outreach.
• Serve as the university’s primary media strategist and spokesperson.
• Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, national, and international media outlets.
• Lead crisis communications planning and response.
• Mentor public relations staff and measure effectiveness of initiatives.
