Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist – Plastics to drive the plastics category strategy across global operations. You will lead supplier negotiations, manage RFIs/RFPs, and support contract development to ensure alignment with quality and sustainability standards.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize materials, monitor resin pricing, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining compliance across sites worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in plastics or packaging.
• Experience with supplier negotiations, contracting, and relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Execute the plastics category strategy across North America and global sites.
• Lead supplier identification, evaluation, and selection processes.
• Manage competitive bidding events (RFIs, RFPs) and lead fact-based negotiations.
• Develop sourcing strategies for plastic materials and components.
• Monitor market trends and resin pricing to drive cost-saving opportunities.
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to align specifications with business needs.
• Support contract development, statements of work, and SOPs.
• Drive multiple procurement projects through complex sourcing processes.
• Develop and maintain deep category knowledge and market intelligence.
