Global Payroll Operations Specialist (Scandinavia Region)

About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced payroll specialist to join Rippling’s Global Payroll Operations team. We are rapidly expanding Rippling to serve the needs of employees and employers all over the world. Our Global Payroll Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our global payroll products, which are natively built and fully integrated with Rippling’s broader suite of products. This position will focus on the Scandinavian region.

This role is essential as Rippling develops new capabilities around global product operations and country-specific payroll expertise outside of the US. It will own operational aspects across select countries, manage relationships with external partners, and support expansion into new segments and geographies. Additionally, it will bring critical country-specific payroll expertise to support our payroll software development.

This is an impactful role requiring cross-departmental collaboration to enhance the product and customer experience.

What you will do

  • Execute timely payroll, filings, and payments for all customers across key countries
  • Drive issue resolution and communication with government agencies and partners; directly interface with customers to resolve issues
  • Collaborate with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to ensure:
  • Our native payroll software supports key payroll and tax compliance requirements
  • Product bugs and issues (e.g., calculation errors, file generation errors) are addressed promptly
  • Internal tooling requirements are prioritized and implemented

What you will need

  • Minimum of 4+ years in a global payroll processing role, with at least 2+ years in a client-facing position
  • Expert knowledge of payroll within the Scandinavia region
  • Experience running payroll in other EMEA countries is a plus
  • Ability to process payroll activities in accordance with company guidelines, social security, legislation, and local tax requirements
  • Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office (especially Docs, Sheets, Excel) for data analysis and organization; familiarity with Salesforce queues, JIRA, and Confluence is a plus
  • Ability to review and validate calculations
  • Understanding of payroll concepts and regulations
  • Experience with payroll systems and software
  • Deep knowledge of leave entitlements and labor legislation
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
