Job summary

BioCryst is seeking a hands-on Senior Payroll Manager with deep Workday Payroll experience to independently lead and modernize global payroll operations. This role owns end-to-end U.S.

and international payroll processes, oversees a high-volume inquiry function, and collaborates with external providers. You will drive audits, SOX controls, and continuous improvements by leveraging AI and automation to reduce manual touchpoints while ensuring compliance and accurate, timely payroll for employees

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of payroll experience supporting U.S. and international operations.
• Workday Payroll experience required with audit, troubleshooting, optimization.
• Experience managing outsourced payroll providers and vendor accountability.
• Strong knowledge of payroll accounting, reconciliations, tax, SOX, and compliance.
• CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll operations for U.S. and international locations.
• Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, SOX controls, and evidence retention.
• Coordinate with Finance on funding, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Manage external payroll providers and ensure quality and timeliness.
• Develop a scalable payroll roadmap with automation and AI integrations.
