Job summary

Fish & Richardson P.C., a premier global IP law firm, is seeking a Patent Paralegal specializing in foreign prosecution in Chicago. You will prepare, file, and manage documents across all phases of patent prosecution, and maintain prosecution dockets to meet deadlines.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's or ABA paralegal certificate and at least five years of foreign prosecution experience, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills and a commitment to 1300 billable hours per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or ABA-recognized Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience as a Patent Paralegal with foreign prosecution knowledge.
• Foreign prosecution experience is required; U.S. experience is a plus.
• Meet billing requirement of 1300 hours per year.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; team-oriented.
• Office presence for training and collaboration at least 3 days per month.
• Preparation and filing of information disclosure statements and related documents is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, obtain, and file documents related to all phases of patent prosecution, including requests for client instructions; assignments; and responses to office actions.
• Maintain and manage a prosecution docket and follow up on items to ensure due dates and deadlines are met.
• Account for all hours worked by entering time into the firm’s timekeeping system to achieve the billable goal.
