Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in San Francisco seeks a Director of Clinical Operations to lead global oncology trials from preclinical to early-phase. You will serve as study lead for first-in-human and dose-escalation studies, coordinating cross-functional teams and external CROs to execute complex protocols.

The role emphasizes operational excellence, timelines, budgets, risk management, and alliance management, with travel required and at least 3 days onsite per week.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in biotech/pharma clinical development.
• Deep expertise in early-phase oncology trials including T-cell engagers, bispecifics, or cell therapies.
• Experience supporting global study start-up, enrollment strategies, and vendor oversight; strong knowledge of FDA, EMA, GxP, ICH-GCP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead as study lead for complex first-in-human and dose-escalation oncology trials.
• Manage CROs/vendors, develop study strategies, timelines, budgets, and risk plans.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and inspection readiness.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Biometrics, and other teams.
• Drive operational excellence, process improvements, and alliance management.
