Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Network Engineer to support and improve our global network environment. The role requires on-site work in Los Angeles or Oakland, collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to monitor health, troubleshoot issues, and maintain documentation of network services for our practitioners worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of experience in network support, administration, or related role.
• Strong understanding of core network services and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP).
• Knowledge of Layer 2 concepts (switching, VLANs, STP, LACP, port channels, PoE).
• Knowledge of Layer 3 concepts (IP addressing, routing, VLAN interfaces).
• Ability to troubleshoot, document, and elevate complex issues.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.
• US citizenship for government project administration

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Gensler's global network environment.
• Monitor health, respond to alerts, perform routine maintenance, and improve availability and performance.
• Stay current with networking concepts and enterprise tools; build practical experience in network administration.
• Review performance data, identify trends, document findings, escalate complex issues.
• Follow security, change control, and compliance practices for network infrastructure.
• Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, service desk, and regional technology teams on tasks and projects.
• Participate in network implementation, upgrades, and optimization activities.
