Job summary

Viking Therapeutics, Inc. seeks a Director/Senior Director of Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) to lead external CDMO/CMO activities, oversee lifecycle management of processes, validation strategy, and technology transfers in a virtual manufacturing model.

The role establishes enterprise MSAT strategy, aligns with Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain, and serves as the technical leader for external manufacturing, transfer readiness, and inspections support.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field.
• 12+ years in MSAT, process validation, and technical ops in pharma/biotech.
• Experience overseeing CDMOs/CMOs in external/virtual manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead MSAT across external partners to support clinical and commercial supply.
• Develop, implement MSAT strategies, standards, governance for lifecycle management and validation.
• Provide technical oversight for manufacturing processes, validation programs, and CPV.
