Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Global Mobility Tax Manager in New York to lead the strategy and operating model for mobility tax across international and domestic business travel, assignments, and cross-border moves.

You will translate complex tax requirements into clear policies and durable controls, collaborating with Payroll, Corporate Tax, Finance, Legal, and external advisors to ensure compliant, employee-friendly programs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in global mobility tax, expatriate tax, or related field.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across Payroll, Legal, Finance, and Tax.
• Ability to translate complex tax requirements into clear policies and controls.

Responsibilities

• Set global mobility tax framework, governance, and service model.
• Build policies for international/domestic travel, assignments, and cross-border moves.
• Design end-to-end operating model with ownership, handoffs, and controls.
• Partner with Payroll, Tax, Finance, Legal, People, and business leaders to align on tax implications.
• Establish reporting, dashboards, and issue-management routines to surface risk.
• Automate high-volume workflows and leverage AI tools for case handling and data quality.
• Manage external tax advisors and vendor partners against agreed standards.
• Monitor regulatory changes and strengthen policies and controls.
