Job summary

First Solar is seeking a seasoned controls and MES engineering leader to drive global solutions and support for Manufacturing Enterprise Systems. You will manage a team of 5–10 engineers, coordinate with executives, and ensure MES SLAs, safety, and SOX controls across sites.

The role requires 10+ years of related experience, 2–4 years in lead roles, a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, and strong PLC/HMI/SQL Server knowledge for international deployments.

Qualifications

• Must translate business needs to software solutions and requirements.
• Experience with lead roles and enterprise software projects; strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• International deployments and ITIL/ITSM familiarity; SOX compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead recurring steering meetings: organize, schedule, prepare presentations for, host/facilitate, capture action items and follow up.
• MES Operations Support Management: Manage operations support & resources for controls and electrical systems; ensure MES SLAs.
• Lead MES Team: Manage team of 5-10 direct reports; set goals, assign work, conduct performance reviews and hiring.
• Compliance: Execute SOX controls for software source code management and MES-ERP exception tracking.
• Safety: Ensure adherence to safety procedures and environmental standards.
• Mentor: guide technical resources and encourage creativity and innovation.
