Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Direct the company’s efforts to build and maintain expertise with specific diseases and clinical/scientific processes to provide educational support to the therapeutic communities (e.g. PH oncology, transplant medicine) that partner with the company. Plan and implement policies regarding collaboration, research, education, and outreach to enhance the company’s Global Medical Affairs operations to improve the available care to patients suffering from life-threatening pulmonary hypertension diseases. Serve as the primary point-of-contact for the company’s Global Medical Affairs matters related to European and Latin American partners; including clinical studies, medical education & information, and educational presentations. Lead specific global projects related to pulmonary hypertension in collaboration with health care professionals located within the Americas, Europe and Asia. Direct the affairs related to company sponsored or authorized partner studies, and investigator sponsored studies conducted outside the United States (and potentially globally) to ensure scientific validity and compliance. Implement policies to educate foreign Medical Affairs teams so that global distributors may develop and maintain their own expertise and may interface with external HCPs and investigators for the provision of medical education/medical information and regional clinical development activity not supported directly by the company. Collaborate with the company’s Chief Medical Officer on internally developed product and clinical development. Plan and implement mentorship and professional development processes and provide leadership to specific organizational decision making to include business development opportunities. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 50% to include international travel.

Minimum Education and Experience Required
Education: Doctor of Medicine, or Doctor of Pharmacy degree, foreign equivalent degrees are acceptable.
Experience: Ten years of experience in the position or in a related Medical Operations Management, Medical & Health Services Manager, or Medical Doctor position.
Job Location and Travel Requirements:
This position is located in our Durham, NC office and requires up to 50% domestic and international travel.
