We have an exciting opportunity to join our Biopharmaceuticals Medical (BPM) team as a Global Medical Affairs Leader (GMAL) Dyslipidemia, working with the oPCSK9i asset in our growing and accelerating portfolio.
BPM ensures the best patient outcomes by providing healthcare decision-makers around the world with the evidence and confidence they need on AstraZeneca (AZ) therapies. We support our internal stakeholders with medical strategic insight and expertise, with the aim of achieving scientific leadership, whilst aspiring to be a great place to work keeping patients at the core of everything we do.
GMALs are important strategic business roles, individuals who have the ability to pair unique medical expertise with insight from markets, healthcare professionals, patients, and health systems to develop and execute world-class medical strategies for AstraZeneca medicines and market-shaping teams, globally.
Beyond being a key member of the Global Medical Team (GMT), the GMAL acts as a strategic partner and leader across the medical enterprise, R&D, and commercial functions. The role serves as a conduit with Medical teams in the Regions (US, EU-Canada, China, Japan & International) and markets, ensuring the needs of marketing company affiliates, healthcare professionals and patients are recognized in ambitious Global product and disease area strategies, and that medical teams around the world are equipped to deliver outstanding product launches, transform health systems, deliver practice-defining studies and real world evidence, and accelerate delivery of AstraZeneca clinical trials.

In-person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace and challenge perceptions. That’s why we work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office. The annual base pay for this position ranges from $193k to $289K. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors
