Job summary

Aon is seeking a Senior Director, Media Relations to lead day-to-day media engagement, build trusted relationships with tier-one reporters, and shape external positioning in support of Aon's business objectives.

The role leads a global Center of Excellence, mentors a proactive media relations team, and partners with Marketing & Communications to drive strategy, storytelling and impactful external communications across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years in communications.
• Experience with developing and leading national and local media relationships for a publicly traded and global brand.
• Ability to lead sophisticated, sensitive communication initiatives, balancing individual and organizational agendas.
• Proven track record of advising and building trusted relationships with senior leaders, including C-suite executives.

Responsibilities

• Develop journalist relationships, pitch and secure media coverage and respond to media queries to advance commercial objectives and influence positive perceptions of Aon's reputation, thought leadership and social impact.
• Build Aon's share of voice across mega trends shaping client need across Risk Capital and Human Capital capabilities.
• Implement distribution of corporate press releases, media advisories and updates shared via Aon's newsroom.
• Partner with multiple team members developing messaging plans and content articulating growth strategy and key initiatives.
• Lead a global Center of Excellence for media engagement to drive an aligned approach across the firm.
