Job summary

Equinix seeks a Design Principal, Engineering Development (Mechanical), to lead global datacenter design decisions across regions. You will direct the Mechanical discipline of the Reference Design, evaluate new products, and align regional teams with standard templates and regional variations.

You will collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal partners to optimize cost, performance, and resilience while maintaining Equinix's Global Design Standards and timelines for multiple concurrent

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a Design MEP Firm or mission-critical building design.
• Global/local mechanical design experience across AMER/EMEA/APAC regions.
• Masters preferred; Bachelor’s degree acceptable.
• PE, CEng or local equivalent desirable.
• Spoken and written English proficiency essential; additional languages desirable.
• Experience with major customers’ design requirements is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide global mechanical engineering direction via Reference Designs.
• Evaluate new products and engineering approaches for Reference Design maturation.
• Support regional design teams with implementation of Reference Design.
• Coordinate with Major Capital Equipment procurement and lifecycle feedback.
• Engage with customers to capture evolving design requirements and tailor Reference Design configurations.
