Job summary

ExxonMobil, Houston area, is seeking a Market Risk Analyst to monitor trading activities for policy compliance and to develop tools for Global Trading risk. You will identify exposures, report margins, and advise senior management on risk appetite and hedging strategies.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in risk management, strong math skills, and proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Python. Excellent collaboration with trading teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in financial, energy or chemical risk management.
• Strong knowledge of crude oil, refined products, natural gas, and/or freight markets.
• Strong understanding of physical trading, derivatives, and financial products.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
• Excel, SQL, and programming languages such as Python.
• Experience with Energy Trading Risk Management Systems.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics.

Responsibilities

• Act as Market Risk focal point for front-office and senior stakeholders.
• Understand regional price differences and market fundamentals.
• Suggest risk-mitigation actions and adhere to risk limits.
• Generate risk reports and provide daily commentary on portfolio activity.
• Collaborate with Global Trading support functions for deal queries.
• Validate positions and ensure data integrity with traders.
• Support hedging plans and risk limit development.
• Develop risk reporting and ad-hoc analysis tools using Excel, SQL, Python.
