Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer located in Franklin, PA to drive reliable global manufacturing processes and oversee SAP-based programs across sites. You will document manufacturing methods, develop fixtures, and cost parts for in-house and supplier production. • B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Can organize, prioritize and track work requests from multiple sources from outside and inside the ME department.
• Ability to express manufacturing concepts conversationally face to face, over the phone and in email.
• Ability to work with people on a manufacturing floor with a productive, non-combative nature.

Responsibilities

• Drive reliable and consistent manufacturing processes across domestic and global locations for programs and processes.
• Manage global SAP-related programs and burn profiles, including fixtures databases and structural changes.
• Record manufacturing processes for fabrication, machining, sub-assemblies and assemblies with limited supervision.
• Lead operator training at global KMC sites and suppliers on new tooling, welding methods or fixtures.
• Create work instructions engaging manufacturing, quality and engineering with limited supervision.
• Create routers using fabrication and machining standards and understand site capabilities.
• Cost parts using standards and market data for in-house, outsourced, and best-cost suppliers.
• Design fixtures to reduce cost, lead time and improve quality for welding, machining and assembly.
• Process engineering changes for drawings, routers, programs and work instructions.
