The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Global Manager, Finance Systems Portfolio.

The Global Manager, Financial Systems is responsible for developing and managing IJM's finance systems portfolio, including Workday, Adaptive Planning, QuickBooks, M-files, SmartSheet, treasury and banking tools, and other relevant systems. This role will own the Finance Systems Roadmap, will develop an understanding of the systems needs of the Finance Team, suggest technology-enabled solutions from existing and new technology vendors, and lead the design and implementation of these systems working closely with functional SMEs and GTS technical support.

The Global Manager, Finance Systems is responsible for managing the Finance components of the Workday system including configuration. This work involves troubleshooting and resolving complex support issues and working with finance leaders to develop solutions for the Finance Modules within Workday. It requires advanced knowledge of Workday to effectively complete these duties. This work will be completed within the ecosystem of Workday which includes the Workday HCM leader and the Workday Platform leader, requiring close collaboration with those teams.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area OR remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Global Director, Treasury and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Management:

  1. Lead senior Finance Management through a regular Finance Systems Roadmap review obtaining input and shared buy-in to this multiyear strategic plan.
  2. Negotiate trade-offs as required.
  3. Align with GTS and HR roadmaps.

Strategy, Knowledge Development & Implementation:

  1. System Leadership: Lead monthly Finance stakeholder partnership meetings.
  2. Lead the effective execution of large projects and ensure delivery of planned sprint schedules.
  3. Ensure all approved non-urgent requests are updated in the backlog for prioritization.
  4. Design system testing—developing test scenarios, managing testing sessions, and adjusting training accordingly.

Networking & Partnership:

  1. Develop networks with other customers within relevant communities to leverage best practices for IJM.
  2. Direct the work of external consultants as needed.
  3. Partner with Finance, HR teams and GTS to define and refine requirements for new features and enhancements.
  4. Partner with project leaders in the business to effectively plan and execute projects from discovery through post-go-live phases.

Complex Projects:

  1. Working with a user base distributed across the Globe, lead requirements gathering, technical documentation, execution of technical work, and vendor estimates.
  2. Plan technical timelines and scopes of large projects.
  3. Lead execution of successful testing and ensure business sponsor sign-off on requirements and testing.
  4. Handle complex Workday tickets and support IT analyst with regular tickets.

Communication:

  1. Manage project-specific communications, including partnering with business on building charters.
  2. Handle critical issue escalation and management.
  3. Direct release communications to core team members and stakeholders.
  4. Advise and partner with business partners for training and communications to end users on new features, upgrades, and enhancements.

Training and Development:

  1. Onboard and coordinate continuous training of super users and other users.
  2. Develop training programs, including job aids and training materials to empower super users.
  3. Mentor and train analysts in requirements gathering, testing, and project leadership for small projects.

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC):

  1. Deliver software solutions following industry-standard SDLC: gather requirements, system configuration, test and UAT, deployment, and support.
  2. Ensure thorough requirements gathering.
  3. Oversee and ensure testing of all requirements and scenarios.
  4. Understand and deploy Agile methods when appropriate.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, related field or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and certification.
  2. 7+ years’ professional work experience including 3+ years of leadership experience.
  3. 5+ years of Finance systems experience, including new module implementation, project management, issue management, communication, and change management (Prior experience with global system support and deployment a plus).
  4. 3+ years’ Workday Financials configuration and requirements gathering experience strongly preferred.
  5. Experience in an Agile work environment required.

Technical Competencies:

  1. Experience leading technical projects required.
  2. Experience writing UAT criteria or scripts for technical system requirements.
  3. High proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools preferred.
  4. Experience with Workday required.
  5. Workday training required.
