Job summary

Astec in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Director of Global Logistics to design and implement a world-class parts logistics and warehousing operation. You will lead the warehousing, distribution and 3PL relationships, ensuring timely global shipments and inventory accuracy.

The role demands 10+ years in global logistics in heavy manufacturing, strong leadership, ERP expertise (Oracle or MS Dynamics AX), and advanced Excel skills. This is an onsite position with some regional/international travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics or related field.
• Minimum ten years in global warehousing and logistics in heavy manufacturing.
• Strong leadership experience and ERP system expertise.
• Experience with Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics AX recommended.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develops global logistics strategy for fast parts delivery to customers worldwide.
• Leads warehousing, distribution and 3PL relationships.
• Ensures safety and wellbeing of the global logistics team.
• Develops metrics to monitor warehouse activities and performance.
• Drives continuous improvement for productivity, quality and efficiency.
• Oversees shipment and receiving of spare parts, with accurate inventory.
• Maintains inventory accuracy via cycle counting and process controls.
• Collaborates with vendors and auditors to resolve inventory issues.
• Prepares purchasing system procedures and reporting for management.
