Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director of Supply Chain Management in the Global Launch Planning (GLP) department to oversee end-to-end execution of new product launches in major markets. You will lead cross-functional teams, develop market launch plans, identify launch risks, and drive hypercare to transition to sustaining owners.

Required is 7+ years in supply chain or launch planning within pharma/biotech, with strong communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) or more years of experience in supply chain, launch planning, and/or manufacturing operations within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Prior project management experience in a cross-functional/cross-divisional environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive ownership and accountability without direct authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in uncertain environments and develop proactive risk mitigations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize data into recommendations.
• Lean mindset with continuous improvement experience.
• Ability to work across cultures and global networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional launch teams from preparation through hypercare and transition to sustaining owners.
• Coordinate with Value Chain Management to align launch plans with GFLS and Supply Chain Design.
• Develop launch supply scenarios with modeled options for decision-makers.
• Identify risks to launch and supply; develop mitigations and drive resolution.
• Support business continuity planning with technology, sites, procurement, regulatory, and commercial partners.
• Coach and mentor launch planners and rotational staff; share knowledge across the team.
