Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Lab Operations Manager to support sponsored clinical trials in laboratory operations. You will provide strategic guidance to study teams, oversee supplier governance, and ensure high quality lab performance globally, with potential travel up to 20%.

Qualified candidates will have a doctoral or advanced degree with extensive experience in lab and clinical trials, plus strong vendor management, regulatory understanding, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree or higher required.
• Master's degree with 2+ years of lab and clinical trials experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of lab and clinical trials experience.
• Associates degree with 8+ years of lab and clinical trials experience.
• High school diploma with 10+ years of lab and clinical trials experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on study design and execution.
• Support study startup and conduct with suppliers (sourcing, budget review, supplier selection).
• Build global relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Govern laboratory suppliers and ensure governance.
• Lead evaluation/qualification of suppliers for labs.
• Develop and implement standards for evaluation, qualification, selection, and monitoring of labs.
• Oversee technical/operational performance of lab suppliers across studies.
• Support clinical trials and alignment with stakeholders for companion diagnostics.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives with Therapeutic Areas, Early Development and Research.
• Share expertise in emerging technologies and industry conferences.
• Contribute to supplier governance improvements and integration activities after acquisitions.
