Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Lab Operations Manager to lead global laboratory supplier oversight for sponsored clinical trials. You will guide study design input, support startup activities with suppliers, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders worldwide.

Ideal candidates have extensive lab and clinical trials experience, strong governance capabilities, and the ability to drive standardization across labs. The role involves up to 20% travel and a comprehensive total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or equivalent with substantial lab and clinical trials experience.
• Advanced degree plus relevant lab/clinical trials background as applicable.
• High-level understanding of regulatory and quality requirements for labs.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on technical and operational aspects of study design.
• Support study startup with suppliers including sourcing and budgets.
• Develop global relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Drive governance of laboratory suppliers and ensure fit-for-purpose processes.
• Lead evaluation and qualification of suppliers and advise on selection.
• Develop and implement standards for evaluation, qualification, management, and monitoring of labs.
• Oversee performance of laboratory suppliers and resolve escalated issues.
• Support trials and cross-functional alignment with stakeholders, suppliers, and partners.
• Participate in initiatives with Therapeutic Areas, Early Development, and Research.
• Share expertise on emerging technologies and contribute to governance improvements.
