Moonbug Entertainment in New York seeks a Story Development & Editorial Manager (Licensed IP) to lead narrative strategy across publishing, audio, games, and consumer products.

You will act as the central editorial bridge, ensuring authentic voice across all Moonbug IPs, evaluating scripts, manuscripts, and character bibles while guiding licensee content.

This onsite role requires collaboration with global teams (US/UK) and a passion for bold ideas that grow brands and delight families.

Qualifications

• Licensed IP mastery and editorial experience with major franchises.
• Extensive editing across books, comics, game dialogue, and scripts.
• Experience creating stories for US/UK markets.
• Strong cross-category copywriting for publishing, products, gaming, and audio.
• Ability to manage senior stakeholders and defend narrative decisions.
• Understanding of how narrative drives branding and sales.
• Willingness to coordinate across multiple time zones (UK/US).

Responsibilities

• Act as central editorial powerhouse, driving storytelling across six pillars across publishing, audio, and product.
• Oversee publishing: global fiction, non-fiction, and graphic novels; originate stories and approve final text.
• Shape audio narratives for podcasts and audiobooks.
• Collaborate with Consumer Products to weave narrative into products where relevant.
• Maintain Brand consistency across Character Bibles and narrative content.
• Work with Studio, Production, and Gaming to share narrative content and build cohesive IP ecosystem.
• Scale stories across categories while preserving a unified canonical universe.
• Review external partners’ copy to protect brand integrity at scale.
