We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and forward-thinking Vice President of Storage Administration to lead, manage, and innovate our global storage infrastructure.

This leadership position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of storage administration, ensuring the integrity, security, scalability, and efficiency of data storage systems across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a proven capability in managing complex storage environments at scale.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic:
    • Develop and implement the vision and strategy for enterprise-wide storage solutions that align with business objectives.
    • Lead the development of long-term plans for data storage, disaster recovery, backup, and archiving to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a global team of storage engineers and administrators.
    • Provide mentorship, career development, and performance management to storage team members.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence within the storage team.
  • Infrastructure Management:
    • Oversee the implementation, and maintenance of storage systems (SAN, NAS, object storage, cloud storage, etc.).
    • Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability of storage systems.
    • Lead efforts to manage capacity planning, data migration, and data lifecycle management.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices related to data storage, including security, privacy, and governance.
    • Implement robust data protection mechanisms, including encryption, backup, and disaster recovery plans.
    • Manage risk assessments and remediation plans for storage-related vulnerabilities.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, application development, and security, to ensure storage infrastructure meets organizational needs.
    • Work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to define requirements and ensure alignment with overall IT strategy.
    • Represent storage administration at meetings, providing updates, reports, and strategic recommendations.
  • Oversee the storage budget, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost management.
  • Manage relationships with third-party storage vendors and service providers, including contract negotiations and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Evaluate and select new storage technologies and platforms, ensuring alignment with business requirements and IT strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Storage Professional (CSP), VMware, NetApp, etc.) are a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and storage management, with at least 5 years in a team lead role.
  • Extensive experience managing enterprise-scale storage systems, including SAN, NAS, cloud storage, and hybrid architectures.
  • Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing complex storage environments.
  • Strong background in data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Deep technical expertise in storage technologies and systems architecture.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive change and innovation in a large, global organization.
  • Expertise in data security, compliance, and regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Proven experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud storage environments.
  • Knowledge of automation and orchestration tools for storage provisioning and management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, security, and operations teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term goals with day-to-day operational needs.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $200,000.

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
