Job summary

Carestream Health is hiring an Import Compliance Specialist for its Rochester, NY facility. The role focuses on review of import/export documentation, licensing, and ensuring compliance with US and international trade rules. You will liaise with US Customs and partners to resolve issues and maintain accurate HTS data.

The position requires 2+ years in US import regulations, CCS certification, and HTS classification experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience with US Import regulations.
• Must be a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).
• FDA experience (import/brokerage in medical/pharma) preferred.
• 1+ years classifying products using HTS.
• Must be in the office on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (hybrid).
• Associates degree or higher (Bachelor’s preferred) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Import/Export compliance with US and other government requirements.
• Serve as liaison to US Customs for export inquiries.
• Provide internal and external support for Import/Export questions.
• Ensure import documents provided to brokerage partner are correct.
• Maintain product database (HTS codes and origins) for broker.
• Update brokerage partner prior to material import into US commerce.
• Stay current on US/Canada regulations; CCS/CTCS training ongoing.
• Oversee monthly wire transfers to brokers and payment audits.
• Maintain logistics contacts with US agencies for audits.
• Prepare and manage Certificates of Origin and related docs.
• Handle AES/ITN filings and EEI data for USPPI exports.
• Maintain ECCN classifications and licenses; ensure compliance.
• Screen against Denied/Restricted Party List for OFAC.
• Review sanctions screening for high-risk countries.
• Lead Record Retention for Export; perform desk audits.
