Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Purchasing professional to negotiate import/international products and manage inventories to meet customer demand within a team-oriented environment.

The role emphasizes cost-effective purchasing strategies, vendor negotiation, and collaboration with sales to ensure optimal product availability and pricing. Prior foodservice purchasing experience preferred; CPP certification a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years purchasing or related area.
• Associates/2-year technical: Procurement, business management or related area.
• Knowledge and sourcing of International Specialties foodservice products.
• 2–4 years purchasing experience within foodservice industry.
• Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP).

Responsibilities

• Attain targeted profit margins and maintain pricing and purchase orders.
• Effectively implement buying/purchasing strategies for cost-effective sourcing.
• Manage inventory levels to designated goal level.
• Consult with vendors regarding orders, deliveries and related paperwork; provide product and pricing information to sales; investigate quality issues.
• Complete special projects as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
