SpaceX is seeking a Global Immigration & Compliance Specialist to manage international employment compliance, immigration, and employee mobility across multiple entities worldwide. The role focuses on visa sponsorship, policy development, and cross-border workforce solutions.

The candidate will partner with legal and external counsel to ensure compliant employment structures, conduct compliance audits, and support mobility programs, including remote work where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in global HR, immigration, or mobility management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage visa applications and immigration documentation for sponsoring employees globally.
  • Advise HR leadership on evolving international immigration laws and risk areas.
  • Partner with legal to create, implement, and update global mobility policies and handbooks.
  • Coordinate with global mobility vendor to manage mobility cases, including short-term assignments, long-term transfers, and remote work.
  • Track and report on global mobility data (visa status, work authorization, travel days, etc.).
  • Partner with external counsel to ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax registrations, and reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with Finance/Tax and Legal to maintain compliant employment structures and payroll requirements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for government agencies on employment-related compliance matters.
  • Update employment agreements or other related documents with external counsel.
  • Manage background check process and ensure compliance with local labor and employment laws.

GLOBAL IMMIGRATION & COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

The Global Immigration & Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in all aspects of international employment compliance, immigration (domestic and international), and employee mobility across the company’s multiple international entities. This role ensures all legal, tax, and employment regulations are met while supporting seamless movement of employee talent.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Global Mobility & Immigration

  • Manage visa applications and immigration documentation needed for sponsoring employees to work in the U.S., India, Brazil, Singapore, and Ireland and other international locations as needed.
  • Advise HR leadership on emerging international immigration laws and risk areas on an ongoing basis.
  • Partner with legal to create, implement, and update global HR, mobility policies and international handbooks.
  • Partner with global mobility vendor to manage mobility cases, including short-term assignments, long-term transfers, and remote work.
  • Track and report on global mobility and immigration data (visa status, work authorization, travel days, etc.).

Compliance & Reporting

  • Partner with external immigration counsel and PEOs to ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax registrations, and statutory reporting requirements in all jurisdictions.
  • Conduct HR compliance audits in partnership with local counsel in each jurisdiction.
  • Liaise with Finance/Tax and Legal to maintain compliant employment structures, contractor relationships, and payroll requirements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for government agencies and local authorities on employment-related compliance matters.
  • Work with external counsel to update legal documentation, including employment agreements or other related documents.
  • Manage background check process and ensure compliance with local labor and employment laws.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years of experience as global HR, immigration, or mobility management.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ of experience in global HR, immigration, or mobility management, strong understanding of U.S. immigration laws.
  • Experience with employment and HR compliance regulations across India, Brazil, Singapore, and Ireland.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and operational organizations to manage compliance obligations.
  • Experience operationalizing compliance procedures and systems.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Willingness to travel (up to 15%).
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA or Bastrop, TX area.

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
