Job summary

Boston University seeks a Director of Health, Safety & Security for Global Partnerships and Support to guide international health and safety across BU’s study abroad and experiential programs. The role designs policies, crisis plans and training, and coordinates travel risk and incident response for students and staff worldwide.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will supervise the Health, Safety and Security Manager, collaborate with global teams, and chair cross‑functional safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in relevant field.
• At least 8 years of progressive international operational experience.
• Experience in global safety, security, emergency or risk management.
• Ability to advise senior leadership and lead cross-functional decisions.
• Strong writing, analytical and project management skills.
• Ability to travel on short notice if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of health, safety and security policies for BU study abroad programs.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, crisis management and incident response.
• Oversee risk assessments, travel risk management and training initiatives.
• Represent Global Programs on safety committees and with insurers/providers.
