Job summary

PATH is seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to lead finance, IT and continuous improvement across a globally distributed team. You will act as the financial architect of resilience, partner with the CEO and Board, and oversee governance, risk, and performance reporting in a volatile funding environment.

The role requires 15+ years of progressive financial leadership in international NGOs, deep US regulatory expertise, and a proven track record transforming finance during funding shifts.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership in international nonprofits.
• Deep command of the US regulatory environment for NGOs: 501(c)(3), Form 990, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).
• Experience with Gates Foundation, USG agencies, Global Fund, Gavi and funder expectations.
• Proven track record leading finance through transformation, restructuring or funding shifts.
• Experience partnering with Boards/audit committees; translating financial complexity for non-financial audiences.
• Experience leading large, globally dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary financial executive to the Board and committees; present results and risks clearly.
• Lead Finance, IT, and Continuous Improvement as one integrated agenda.
• Maintain exemplary compliance and audit performance across USG requirements.
• Build and lead a high-performing, globally distributed finance team.
• Develop resilient funding models and scenario planning; manage reserves and funding mix.
