Job summary

Applied Intelligence Consulting seeks a senior Head of Product, Trust & Safety to lead strategy and execution across international markets. Mandarin and English fluency are mandatory, with leadership of a product team responsible for safety, policy enforcement, and risk platforms.

The role partners with Engineering, Policy, Legal, and China-based leaders to scale AI-enabled safety systems while balancing user experience and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced global environment.

The Company

Our client is a leading global consumer technology company with a significant international presence and a rapidly expanding digital ecosystem. As the business continues to strengthen its international operations, it is investing in advanced Trust & Safety, risk management, and platform governance capabilities to support a safe, trusted, and scalable user experience. We are seeking an experienced Head of Product, Trust & Safety to lead the product strategy, development, and execution of critical safety and risk-management capabilities across international markets.

The Role

This is a senior product leadership position combining Product Strategy, Trust & Safety, Risk Technology, and People Management. You will lead a team of Product Managers responsible for building and scaling solutions across content safety, platform integrity, risk prevention, policy enforcement, and governance infrastructure. The role requires someone who can translate complex platform risks and operational challenges into scalable product solutions, while balancing user safety, operational efficiency, regulatory considerations, and business objectives. You will work closely with Engineering, Algorithms, Data Science, Policy, Legal, and Trust & Safety Operations teams across international markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the international Trust & Safety product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Managers, establishing clear priorities and execution standards.
• Drive product initiatives across content safety, platform integrity, abuse prevention, risk detection, and policy enforcement.
• Develop and optimise moderation platforms, risk-control systems, policy enforcement workflows, and other Trust & Safety infrastructure.
• Partner with Engineering and Algorithm teams to improve automated risk detection, content classification, decisioning, and enforcement capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, machine learning, and large language models to improve Trust & Safety effectiveness and scalability.
• Translate complex policy, operational, and regulatory requirements into practical product capabilities.
• Establish product success metrics covering risk reduction, enforcement effectiveness, operational efficiency, and user experience.
• Ensure product capabilities can support different international markets, languages, cultural contexts, and regulatory environments.
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Data Science, Policy, Legal, and Operations.
• Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and technical teams based in China to align international product priorities with global platform capabilities.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a senior Product leader with strong experience developing and scaling complex technology products, ideally within Trust & Safety, platform governance, risk control, or related areas. The strongest candidates will have:

• Significant Product Management experience, including leadership responsibility within a technology or consumer internet environment.
• Proven experience directly managing a team of at least 5 Product Managers (mandatory requirement).
• Demonstrated experience defining product strategy, owning complex roadmaps, and delivering products at scale.
• Strong understanding of Trust & Safety, content moderation, risk detection, policy enforcement, or platform integrity systems.
• Experience developing complex internal platforms, risk-control products, or operational technology systems.
• Strong technical understanding and the ability to work effectively with Engineering, Algorithms, and Data Science teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience defining product metrics and driving data-informed decisions.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong people leadership, organisational development, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience within a large-scale consumer internet, social media, UGC, marketplace, or technology platform would be highly advantageous.
• Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, international environment.

Language Requirements

• Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is mandatory.
• Candidates must be comfortable conducting senior-level product strategy discussions, technical discussions, and stakeholder alignment in Mandarin.
• Frequent collaboration with China-based Product, Engineering, and leadership stakeholders is a core requirement.
• Conversational Mandarin alone will not be sufficient.
