Job summary

iCOMAT is seeking a Head of Composite Manufacturing Engineering to own process standards and the long-term manufacturing strategy across all sites. You will collaborate with RTS teams to develop robust production methods, lead ME Leads, and drive industrialisation from development to rate production.

The role demands 10+ years in composite manufacturing, strong leadership, and hands-on expertise in prepreg layup, autoclave curing, bonding and NDT. Regular UK travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Composite manufacturing engineering is essential with 10+ years in aerospace/defence/space.
• 5+ years leading manufacturing engineering teams, across sites preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of prepreg layup, autoclave and OA cure, trimming, machining, bonding and NDT.
• Experience with industrialisation tools: APQP, PFMEA, control plans, FAIR, readiness reviews.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements.
• Proven lean/problem-solving track record to improve yield, cycle time and cost.

Responsibilities

• Own the process standards, routings, methods and ME practices across all sites.
• Lead plant ME Leads, build capability and grow the function for new factories.
• Industrialise new parts and processes from order to production release.
• Quote manufacturing methodology, estimate cycle times, labour and cost per part.
• Drive cycle time, yield and cost improvements using lean tools.
• Ensure quality is built in via AS9100-aligned documentation and audits.
