Job summary

Karman Industries is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to drive certification across global markets. You will bridge engineering and testing labs, ensuring products meet safety and regulatory requirements for sale.

Strong documentation and coordination skills are essential for success. Ideal candidates have deep experience with UL/CE/FCC certification programs, can interpret diverse standards, and will manage multiple test programs while coordinating with external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Technical Compliance, or related field.
• 5+ years managing product compliance, regulatory affairs, or safety testing for hardware in a manufacturing environment.
• A record of obtaining and maintaining product certifications such as UL, CE, ETL, FCC, or CSA.
• Comfortable reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and dense regulatory documents.
• Strong writing and speaking skills, including writing technical reports and coordinating with external engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the Certification Lifecycle from initial R&D to final lab testing and market launch.
• Be the Primary Liaison with third-party testing laboratories and certification bodies (UL, Intertek/ETL, TÜV, CSA).
• Translate global regulatory and safety standards into actionable technical requirements for engineering and product teams.
• Compile and maintain audit-ready technical documentation (test reports, schematics, risk assessments, Declarations of Conformity).
• Lead factory audits, quality system checks, and surveillance visits to maintain active certifications.
• Monitor evolving regional safety laws and standards and advise leadership on necessary product changes.
