Job summary

Andromeda Cluster is seeking a Compute Procurement Lead to source GPU capacity globally, spanning neoclouds, hyperscalers, and data centers. You will evaluate hardware, negotiate pricing, and travel to sites to ensure readiness.

The role combines technical judgment with commercial acumen and daily pricing oversight. Based in San Francisco, CA or remote within the US, you will direct multi-billion-dollar compute spend with a lean, autonomous team, shaping Andromeda’s future in AI infrastructure

Qualifications

• Deep GPU, data center fluency and ability to evaluate a cluster.
• Sourcing scarce, expensive capacity and negotiating it hard.
• Market instinct with pricing trends and rationale.
• Willingness to travel internationally and on short notice.
• Commercial judgment with unit economics and contracts.
• Build orientation with lean, autonomous team.

Responsibilities

• Global Capacity Sourcing: Find and secure GPU capacity worldwide across neoclouds, hyperscalers, colocation operators, data centers, and emerging providers.
• Supplier & Ecosystem Relationships: Own relationships across the supply chain and manage allocation conversations and roadmap access.
• Technical Evaluation: Assess capacity from GPU to data center, including hardware gen, SKU, rack/node config, power, cooling, and topology.
• Cost Negotiation: Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers; manage deposits and payment timing, SLAs, and remedies.
• Site Evaluation & Travel: Fly to sites, verify readiness, and translate findings into go/no-go decisions with defensible pricing.
• Market Pricing: Track compute pricing daily by GPU generation, region, and contract term; analyze drivers.
• Compute Market Thesis: Build views on market direction and translate into concrete sourcing decisions.
