Job summary

Mars, Incorporated is seeking a Financial Analyst in Reporting & Consolidations to assist in the preparation of US GAAP consolidated financial statements and the periodic close across Mars and its subsidiaries. You will gather data from decentralized business units, review submissions, and support consolidation adjustments and footnotes.

The role emphasizes process improvement, calendar maintenance for the close, journal entries, and collaboration with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA license are required.
• 2-4 years of experience in the audit division.
• 1-2 years of experience in industry external reporting.
• Experience working with external auditors and consultants.
• Global mindset and ability to understand country/region differences worldwide.
• Experience working with consolidation systems.
• Excel and MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Generating reports from various financial systems to gather data for annual and quarterly U.S. GAAP financial statements and supporting the consolidation process.
• Supporting the periodic close and consolidation process, including unit support, journal entries, analysis and reporting.
• Assisting with the U.S. GAAP quarterly close process and calendar, including footnotes, schedules, and variance analysis; tracking progress to deadlines.
• Collaborating with external auditors to facilitate preparation and audit of financial statements and drive efficiencies in the audit process.
• Documentation of processes, procedures, and controls related to the U.S. GAAP close and consolidation.
• Responding to Business Unit accounting questions to drive quality and process improvements.
• Assisting with special projects for technical accounting and external reporting.
• Coordinating process changes with the Technical Accounting group for new guidance.
