Responsibilities
- Design video analysis algorithms (ROI/SOD, content understanding, temporal grounding, etc.) and quality assessment algorithms, and participate in database creation, algorithm design, development, and optimization.
- Participate in designing strategy and solutions for end‑to‑end video quality optimization combining video analysis, processing, and encoding algorithms.
- Apply designed algorithms for VOD or live streaming monitoring, data analysis, and objective evaluation for algorithms.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate algorithms into production workflows and validate impact through A/B testing.
Qualifications
- Completing or recently completed a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- In‑depth knowledge of video analysis algorithms or subjective/objective video quality algorithms and state‑of‑the‑art technologies.
- Proficient in at least one of C, C++, or Python.
- Familiarity with ML and image processing tools (sklearn, OpenCV, FFmpeg, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch) and Transformer architectures / multi‑modal large models is preferred.
- Experience in Linux development environments, shell scripting, HDFS, etc. is preferred.
- Knowledge of common video processing algorithms such as super‑resolution, defusion models, etc., is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, eagerness to learn, and passion for turning cutting‑edge technologies into real‑world use cases.
Job Information
The base salary range for this position in San Jose is $244,800 - $588,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on qualifications, skills, and experience. The role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
