Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking a Fleet Operations & Reliability Engineer to be the first line of defense for uptime across a global network of ground stations. You will diagnose telemetry, drive incident response, and lead field campaigns to deploy and upgrade hardware at remote sites.

The role blends hands-on hardware work with systems engineering, data analysis, and collaboration with product, manufacturing, and test teams to improve reliability and lifecycle performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering.
• Experience building, testing, operating, or diagnosing complex electrical or mechanical systems.
• Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Own fleet uptime and performance for a global network of ground stations.
• Operate and grow the Network Operations Center, monitor site health and telemetry, drive rapid detection and response.
• Lead hardware deployment campaigns at remote sites and manage field campaigns from pre-deploy to first contact.
• Drive root cause analysis, implement fixes, and develop deep subsystem expertise (RF, power, networking, or mechanical).
• Scale contractor ecosystem and define maintenance/SLA strategies across domestic and international sites.
• Collaborate with product, manufacturing, and test teams to improve reliability and lifecycle performance.
