Job summary

Nightwing seeks a cleared Field Engineer/Installer in the Fairfax, VA area to repair, test, and deploy devices for a global network. You will install and maintain communication systems, travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites, and document installations and testing results.

Candidates must have 6+ years in field engineering, experience with Cisco gear, IP networks, and UPS/power systems. Minimal training and strong problem solving are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' field engineer experience in technical programs.
• Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, SIP and IP networks.
• Experience installing/maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power installations.
• Proficient with CAT5/CAT6 and fiber optics cabling.
• Proficient with Remedy, Visio, and MS Office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in field environments.
• Expert knowledge to deploy/install servers, routers, and telecommunications systems.
• Lead installation teams and manage field projects.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate sites for equipment installation.
• Install equipment (with racks if needed).
• Perform onsite testing and coordinate with other engineers.
• Install and connect cables.
• Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
