Job summary

Rigetti Computing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cryogenics and RF Field Engineer to support systems deployed at customer facilities worldwide.

The role is hands-on, travels extensively, and operates across RF, vacuum, cryogenics, and electronics in production-like environments. You will work with physicists, engineers, and technicians to ensure reliable system performance, own cryogenic infrastructure, validate RF hardware, and debug complex cross-disciplinary issues across regions and time

Qualifications

• Technical background in Physics, Engineering, or related field (MS/PhD a plus).
• Strong proficiency with general electronic test equipment.
• Direct hands-on experience operating/debugging dilution refrigerators (required).
• Experience with sub-Kelvin cryogenic systems.
• Experience with high-availability laboratory or industrial equipment.
• Experience assembling, servicing, and maintaining scientific instruments or complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with vacuum systems and helium leak detection.

Responsibilities

• Test, validate, and debug RF control systems with advanced test equipment.
• Operate and debug dilution refrigerators, including cooldowns and steady-state operation.
• Service cryogenic and vacuum systems, pumps, compressors, and related equipment.
• Perform helium leak detection and thermal system management.
• Assemble and install complex cryogenic, vacuum, and RF assemblies with precision.
• Contribute to test plans and validate next-gen RF hardware.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support customer systems.
