Job summary

A global consulting firm is seeking an experienced Export Control and Trade Compliance Advisor to support international efforts in building trade control capacities. The role focuses on advising, mentoring, and training partner governments and industries on compliance infrastructure and regulatory alignment. Ideal candidates will have at least 15 years of experience in export control and trade compliance, along with strong leadership and communication skills. This position is structured as an Independent Contractor relationship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in export control and trade compliance.
• Proven leadership experience in compliance advisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of international nonproliferation regimes.
• Fluent in English (C1+) with additional language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on strategic trade control frameworks.
• Conduct legal-regulatory reviews and capacity assessments.
• Develop and deliver in-country training on compliance procedures.
• Collaborate with various entities to promote coordination.
• Draft Internal Compliance Program templates tailored to needs.
