Job summary

Human Appeal seeks a senior leader to drive its Emergency Response Unit and coordinate global disaster response activities. You will shape strategy, oversee surge deployments, ensure donor and CHS compliance, and build strong partnerships to maximise reach and accountability.

Qualifications

Degree in a relevant field; post-graduate in humanitarian studies desirable.
8+ years in emergency response/humanitarian coordination at INGO.
3+ years in a comparable iNGO role.
Experience delivering bids from institutional funders (UN, DfID, USAID).
Experience developing emergency response/programme/field office strategy.
Experience managing field office responses during disasters.
Knowledge of SPHERE and Core Humanitarian Standards.
Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

Develop emergency response strategy and work plans to position HA as a lead among global emergency response agencies.
Monitor humanitarian risk in HA countries and globally.
Lead emergency response in disaster areas with surge capacity plans.
Support HA country offices with capacity building and resources mobilization.
Support development and implementation of emergency response projects for HA offices and partners.
Provide technical guidance on inclusive humanitarian response.
