Principle Accountabilities
- Coordinate activities to ensure a safe and healthful environment for all employees, maintaining compliance with government regulations and corporate policies related to equipment and process design. Lead safety reviews as required.
- Develop expertise and provide technical direction to ensure process designs meet sanitary standards and can produce products that satisfy customer and business requirements.
- Offer technical expertise and leadership in electrical design of components, equipment, and processes, applying engineering principles and best practices.
- Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, cost, and asset management across the organization.
- Participate in and lead the development and implementation of new processes, process improvements, and technical systems to achieve business goals.
- Support new product development by providing technical expertise in developing new processes as requested by Marketing and Contract Sales Business Units.
- Foster relationships with key equipment suppliers to gain a technical advantage for Rockline.
- Support activities like the Global Engineering budget, capital requests, and management of capital projects.
- Ensure conformance to financial policies, technical guidelines, and internal controls.
- Assist purchasing with equipment specifications, resolving issues, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain clear, prompt, and complete communication with all relevant stakeholders.
Education, Skills and Experience Required
- Engineer III - BSc in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience, or 10 years of applicable experience with less formal education.
- Engineer II - BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3 years of experience, or equivalent skills with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Recognized as a technical expert with broad engineering expertise.
- Strong understanding of Electrical Codes, NEC, OSHA requirements.
- Proficient in designing and specifying complex PLC, servo, and robotic equipment, including Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, or Bosch/Rexroth systems.
- Advanced skills in MS Office and AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Organized, capable of leading multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
